The Origin
CALIBRE was born out of frustration. During a major incident response engagement, our team needed to quickly check 40 corporate iOS devices for a specific malicious configuration profile.
The standard procedure was to acquire a full iTunes backup of each device and parse it. That process took hours per device. We needed a way to interrogate the live filesystem over USB using authorized protocols, pull exactly what we needed, and move on.
We built CALIBRE to solve that problem. It bundles the power of `libimobiledevice` into a stable, deployable Windows package specifically tuned for forensic triage.
